Consortiums that participate in a DB and PPP project require extensive work to be awarded with the project.

The Request for Qualification (RFQ) is often the first formal stage in the procurement process and can take up to six months. This is used in multi-stage bidding to select a shortlist of qualified bidders narrowing down the list of potential bidders to only those who are technically and financially qualified, and possess the skills to implement the project. These shortlisted firms are then invited to submit bids for the project at the Request for Proposal (RFP) stage which usually lasts from six to fifteen months.

Magnitvde’s expertise and technical knowledge with RFQ and RFP will provide clients with the following Procurement Design services:

  • Select qualified design consultants to get shortlisted in the RFQ and awarded the RFP.

  • Prepare design contracts and scopes of work in agreement with the owners’ requirements.

  • Manage, direct and supervise design consultants and different design disciplines (i.e. roadway, structures, geotech, drainage, environmental, etc.).

  • Meet with key stakeholders and facilitate clear communication among all parties on a consistent basis  (owner, third parties, developer, contractor and design consultants).

  • Lead and supervise the design staff to ensure the team meets the design requirements and performance goals.

  • Prepare Alternative Technical Concepts (ATC) to develop design strategies based on innovative, creative and cost-effective ideas.

  • Determine construction quantities or Bill of Quantities (BOQ), with special attention to items with a higher cost percentage (bridges, embankments, tunnels, foundations, ground treatment, etc.) to develop a winning proposal from a technical standpoint.
